Checkmate

I went to Santana Row for Mother's Day today and did some street photography as I was walking off my meal. It was a pretty busy, interesting day on Santana Row; there was a street art competition and a jazz trio playing at some restaurant as well as the usual collection of kiosks and stands and such.

I really like viewing candid shots, and I like taking them too. I always feel weird just snapping off pictures of total strangers though. I mean, I don't think I'd mind if someone took a spontaneous picture of me, but I can definitely see how people would. On the other hand, if you go up and ask the subject, it's not a candid anymore. In any event these two were pretty focused on their game so they didn't notice me.
